My Mission
Hi friends and family, both near and far!
Twenty-Ten is not only the beginning of a new decade for us all, but 2010 is going to be a particularly special year for me… I will be turning 40 on July 30th! (I know, I can’t believe it either!)
To commemorate this milestone in my life I have set a goal to do something I NEVER EVER thought I would attempt… A FULL IRONMAN distance triathlon. *Swim 2.4 Miles * Bike 112 Miles * Run 26.2 Miles ….. a total of 140.6 miles !!!!!!!!!!!!
The race is called the Full Vineman Triathlon and is on Saturday, July 31st (a mere 6 hours after I turn 40!) in Guerneville, California (in the heart of the Sonoma Wine Country – 1 hour north of San Francisco.) Race time starts at 6:30 am. It will take me anywhere between 13 and 16 hours to finish. (cut off is at 18 hours)
As you may or may not know… Back in 2005, I couldn’t run a mile! In 2006 I became a beginner triathlete and have participated in several small distance triathlons since then. My longest was a half-ironman in 2008. Finishing a FULL Ironman in 2010 will not only be a huge personal accomplishment for me, but it will also put a stamp on my 40th birthday that I will never forget.
This type of endurance test will not only take the next seven months of my life to prepare and train, but it will take the support of my family and special friends who’ll motivate me to KEEP GOING until I cross the finish line.

This is HUGE! How many people in the world can say they completed an IRONMAN???? You may want to check out Active Release Technique for your IT band issues, usually physical Therapists can do it.
